​Many buyers focus on price, DD, and contracts — then forget the operational engine: trust accounting software. If you don’t have software live and configured by settlement, you may still “receive money”, but you will struggle to receipt, allocate, reconcile, and pay owners properly.

• Bank feed or statement import process tested
• Owner statement template checked
• Disbursement workflow tested (even a dummy run)

After settlement (first 72 hours)

• Confirm opening balances match seller’s final reconciliation
• Confirm all incoming payments are being allocated correctly
• Run first mini-reconciliation to ensure no drift

If you’re a buyer: software setup is not “after settlement work.” It’s “must be ready at settlement work.” Treat it the same as finance approval.
